Wingspan: 5 inches
Composition: 12 karat gold filled wire, red copper
wire, #12 surgical steel scalpel blades, bronze treble fishhook,
23 karat gold leaf
Collection site: Osgood Pond, Adirondacks
Comments: As I was making this, at one point I decided
to clean it with alcohol. Then a few minutes later, without
thinking, I tried to use my blowtorch to solder something...
and the alcohol trapped between the wire coils caught, burning
rather spectacularly.
