Wingspan: 2.5 inches
Composition: Blue niobium wire, sterling silver wire,
black copper wire, red copper wire, steel utility blades
Collection site: Cemetery Ridge, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Comments: It's difficult to see in the photo, but
this specimen has creepy complicated black mouthparts. The
ruby eyes are a startling contrast with the blue and silver...
then again, that's true for real bluebottle flies, too.
