Today's summary: Beautiful long horned beetle from Malaysia.

Just today I received a package from Malaysia, this GORGEOUS green and blue longhorned beetle. The antennae are really wild, spiky and long. Apparently over in Malaysia this is a major source of income for local people, catching some beetles in the wild and raising others on farms.

I hope to build a collection of exotic insect specimens (real ones!), so I can study them for my work. Of course I plan to only get captive-bred specimens, or, species that are fairly common in their native habitat. No reason to kill anything rare and wild, right?
