Today's summary: Grasshopper sculpture, sketch.

After class I picked up my new glasses and went home to make the copper grasshopper sculpture for my Denver garden art commission. It looks GREAT -- about a foot and a half long.

It'll have glass eyes and a bluegreen patina. I don't have any photos at the moment, but I'm sure I will within a few days. In the original planning sketch, I put glass drops on the antennae, but I don't plan on really doing that after all. I may add some wings made of brass perforated sheet... maybe glue glass droplets onto them... I'm still not sure, really.
