Today's summary: Typewriter balls and spiders.
I found these weird round metal typewriter ball thingies in the
supply cabinet at work. Never seen anything like them before. My
apologies to anybody old enough to have more of a clue than I do!
Of course I immediately thought, "Bug parts!". But, first I asked
around to see if anybody actually needs them, and lucky for me,
a couple people said they aren't used anymore, and told me to go
ahead and take them. They must've been in the supply drawer forEVER
anyway, since the card in the box is all yellowed with age.
There's a set of four in a box marked "IBM Script Element". Each
has a different version of this same typeface, apparently. One is
marked "Prestige Elite 96", one is "Pica 96", one "Orator 96", and
one "Script 96". I'm figuring these would make GREAT bumblebee bodies;
I should keep this set of four together. It'll be like they're all
different subspecies, maybe with different wing markings or different
gold leafing on the abdomen. I'll make some sketches when I have
a chance.

There's also one that was by itself, "Prestige Elite 72". Maybe
I'll make that one into a spider. They look interesting underneath
too, with the serrated edge... but, the bulbous top view is more
bug-esque.
