Summary: Winterstone, cement for sculpture, fish fossil
However! There is hope!
There's a product called Winterstone
that seems to work well. It's a cement-based polymer mix.
Just add water... the result is a pure white creamy putty.
Not quite as stiff as clay when wet, takes an impression really
well, and dries to be as hard as concrete!
So, I made a new fish fossil with Winterstone.
[sketch] 11x14 inches, white Winterstone cement.
I'm not sure if this is a test or my first real fossil sculpture
-- depends on whether it works out! I'll post a photo
A.S.A.P. once it's cured somewhat.
