Journal entry for October 1, 2001

Today's summary: Urban chaos! ph33r 4 j00r 1iv3z!

An ICQ conversation with my brother...

Jen: Is it just me, or is the Post Office website down? http://www.usps.gov

Stefan: CHAOS! DISORDER! CHAOS!

Jen: *snicker!* I don't see any cars parked at jaunty angles with their lights on yet, though.

(Editor's note -- that's a reference to Stefan's funny movie summary of the recent Romeo + Juliet movie, wherein he states, "Cars, parked at askew angles with their lights left on -- always the first sign of chaos and insanity in an urban environment. Or the sign of a really bad day at the mall.")

Stefan: Wait five minutes.

Jen: I guess I'll just drive to the post office. I have a package to pick up, anyway. (note, the parking spaces there are angled)

Stefan: SEE?! Leave your headlights on.

Jen: But it's so bright outside...

Stefan: CHAOS!

My brother r0xx0rz. :D

(Editor's note -- "r0xx0rz" = "rocks" in h4xx0rsp33k3, as in, he possesses a high degree of l337 coolness.)

(3d1+0rz n0+3 -- "h4xx0rsp33k3" = "hacker-speak", a dumb yet fun way of pretending to be "elite" ("l337" or "3133+3") by deliberately obfuscating one's typing via the use of unexpected, yet-somehow-the-same-shape-or-sound ASCII characters in lieu of the expected letters.)

Oh, and in conclusion... after all that, I forgot my wallet like a moron, so I couldn't get the package anyway... But, I saw a car drive by with its lights on. Does that count?
