Journal entry for November 20, 2001
Today's summary: More new sculpture shipped to L.A.
I shipped the second set of artwork today.
First, a tarantula with bullet toes, gun barrel brush legs, and
eight red eyes. I LOVE this guy, I'll be sorry to see him go...
The name is, of course, a reference to the cliffhanger of the Brady
Bunch's Hawaiian vacation episode.

Next, a butterfly with sunglass lenses for wings, along with a
chrysalis, caterpillar, and egg. I'm so glad I finally got to execute
this concept, and I'm happy with the result.

And last, a ladybug type with serrated wings. The red of the wingcovers
is very deep and dark, so that unless it's under very bright spotlight,
it's very nearly black.
Rubrobscurus marienkaferiia
("red" "darkness" "Mary's beetle")
Magdala, Galilee
